My Parents

My dad grew up as Arthur Robert Wheeler. The history behind that is quite a story by itself and so I will leave it alone for now. My dad met my first mom at Camp Joy, while she was a student at Pillsbury Baptist Bible College. So, my dad decided that he was going to go to school there also. A couple years down the road they ended up getting married. Just before they were married, my dad changed his name to Robert "Bob" Linder Anderson Jr. after his father.

My mother’s name was Darla Ruth Brenaman. She grew up in Freeport, IL in the house where her parents lived for over 60 years. Her mother, Hope, passed away a few years ago at the age of 95. My mother passed away when she was 26 years of age due to a brain tumor when I was 28 months old. My sister, Tammy, was only 13 months old.

My dad remarried about two and a half years later to one of my mother’s friend from college and also the bridesmaid in my dad’s first marriage. She is the one I call my mom.

My mom’s name was Susanne “Sue” Ruth McGormley. She was raised in MI, graduated college at PBBC, and moved to Az to be the church secretary when Pastor James Singleton moved from MI to start Tri-City Baptist Church in Tempe, Az. She passed away in October ’94 and that’s a whole story in itself that I’ll write about in the future.

Below is a picture of my dad and mother's wedding. The woman to the right of my mother is my mom, Sue.

There is no woman to the right of the bride. Do you mean "left"? The middle of the 3 women?

  2. Sue is to the right of Darla because she's standing by Darla's right arm. She is on the left side of the picture and yes, Sue is the one in the middle.

The gentleman next to my dad is Jim Sproul, brother of Dave Sproul and uncle to Mike Sproul. They (Jim, Dave, & Mike) are all part of the leadership at Tri-City Baptist Church in Chandler, Az.
